Students and monks taking part in the School Enrolment CampaignStudents take part in a School Enrolment Campaign - Access to primary education is a fundamental right of every child. In Cambodia Rural areas, however, the enrolment rate is still very low. In August, 19th to 23th 2011, New Humanity Cambodia by getting corporation with Department of Education Youth and Sport and Local authority (school directors, commune leaders, monks, village leaders) started up a School Enrollment Campaign in Modolkiri province.

Access to primary education is a fundamental right of every child. In Cambodia Rural areas, however, the enrolment rate is still very low. In August, 19th to 23th 2011, New Humanity Cambodia by getting corporation with Department of Education Youth and Sport and Local authority (school directors, commune leaders, monks, village leaders) started up a School Enrollment Campaign in Modolkiri province.The campaign was aimed at increasing the enrolment rate of the 6-years old children in primary school.

The school directors collected the students in front of each school as a queue (2 rows). The students held banners related to the importance of enrolling the 6-years old children to schools. At the same time, the students went though from house to house in order tell the parents about the importance of enrolling all children to school in October 2011. Moreover, NH got the radio spot from the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports related to this campaign and we spread this information to the community though microphone. As most of the community there are Phnong Minority, Socheat, education program officer, also raised the voices by translating from Khmer into Phnong language. This campaign was done around the villages which are targeted of each school.
