classeProfessional preschool teaching will lead to a better future

Early childhood pedagogy training

As we well know, teaching preschool children is not an easy work to accomplish. Preschool teachers have to learn how to teach preschool students successfully. In August 2015, New Humanity (NH) sent 9 teachers (Module I= 4 teachers, and Module II: 5 teachers) to attend the preschool pedagogy training organized by a  local organization called Krousar Yoeung (our family), which is specialized in Early Childhood Care and Development in Cambodia. Contents of the training were focused on how to recognize the characteristics of preschool children in order to give them the appropriate education  in accordance with their capabilities and interests.Ms. Em Somaly, a teacher at Taney pre-school, shared her feedback regarding the course she attended.

A year in the Golden Land

Letter of Silvia Bonotto, from Myanmar, 5 September 2009

As in a fairy tale, my history begins in a “far far away Country”. This is Myanmar, a Country bordering on India, Bangladesh, China and Thailand. How did I get here? Well, I simply work. Immages of teh victimes of the Cambodian genocide. These pictures are exposed in the Tuol Sleng memorial, Phnom Penh.Memory must be indelible

The job of the operators working in the sector of international cooperation and the missionary world can not ignore the cultural and educational promotion, especially addressed to the younger generations.

New Humanity has the fortune to work with friends of PIME Foundation, who for several years has been promoting educational projects in schools. On January 27, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we had the chance to share a moment of reflection, together with an educator from PIME Foundation, with the students from a class of a secondary school in Basiglio, a small town near Milan. Starting from the importance, not only symbolic, of remembering the Holocaust perpetrated by the Nazi regime, we tried to enlarge the reflection also remembering the cambodian genocide of the Khmer Rouge.

Finding life in the dust
Letter of Laura Redaelli, volunteer in Cambodia

There are experiences in life that lead you to lands far away from your home and brings your perspectives even farther.
I had the chance to do one of these experiences, thanks to New Humanity who gave me the opportunity to enjoy an internship in Cambodia, visiting and working on the Early Childhood Care and Education Program.

In Kompong Chhnang and in Mondolkiri I worked with Lucia, the advisor in education, assisting her in her work both in the office and on the field. I visited all the kindergartens managed by New Humanity where I was open to learn seeing, listening, experiencing and observing.

Welcome to Aurelie!

Aurélie Neumann is a new volunteer who is specialist in Physiotherapy. She started her work with NH by the end of May 2012.
Aurélie is currently living at Prey Veng province, located around 200 Km away from Kompong Chhnang, but thanks to her good heart and her passion for her job, she doesn’t mind to travel from Prey Veng to Kampong Chhnang and back every month.
Aurélie will be volunteering with New Humanity for 6 months. During her volunteering period, she will not only provide physiotherapy to persons with disability in CBR centers and HBC, but she will also train Mr. Sim and Mrs. Saokea, a new physiotherapy officer. Hopefully, both of them will learn a lot from Aurélie after 6 months.
