PARENTING AND PREVENTION FOR COVID-19 IN SHAN STATE VILLAGES

At the beginning of this month, our Program Manager for education, Senglat Ja, gave parenting education training in 5 villages near to Taunggyi and Kyaing Tong, in Shan State.

At these trainings attended 333 people and they learnt topics as: importance of breastfeeding, healthy meals, action for good parenting and hygiene awareness about COVID-19. This program is a part of the project “Education for all” founded by PIME foundation. This one week program showed great results and has certainly been a good base for building future activities, a community based approach to the education of their children!

GUIDING STARS FOR THE FUTURE

Leo Hawng Lwan is our teachers supervisor in Nghet Aw San Youth training school, since November 2019.

He believes in teaching in that school. He thinks that juvenile centers also deserve quality education. His vision is to help these boys to find out their potentials and to be able to contribute to the society after their meaningful stay in school. He says: “Our future is in their hands, so without giving them the quality education, care, understanding and acceptance how could we expect our brighter future from them?”.

WATER AND SANITATION IN YANG KHA

Thanks to PIME foundation we finally collected all needed funds to start up a new project of Water and Sanitation in Kyaing Tong rural zone, in Shan State, in Myanmar.

The project foresees the building of 4 systems of water supply to grant access to water in 5 villages in Kyaing Tong zone. Before the constructions, we foresees to do awareness activities among the population regarding sanitation and health, prevention of illnesses and water management.

BIG SUCCESS IN DISABILITY IN SHAN STATE

Our partnership with Don Carlo Gnocchi foundation is starting to show great results! The new physiotherapist hired last September sent us the report on children’s progresses and they are really improving their abilities. Unfortunately in Myanmar rehabilitation’s sector is still not very developed, and so the inclusion of a professional physiotherapist in our staff in Taunggyi is really helping in improving our beneficiaries’ lives!

THE STORY OF WAY

Maung Wai Phyo Aung is a 11 year old boy. He lives with his parents and sister in the village of Honar. He was considered wrongly deaf from birth. Thanks to the staff of New Humanity now he is able to hear the voice of his loved ones, talk and ... run fast!
